Songwriting

I began writing songs when I was a teenager, trying to copy classical music and alternative bands on the radio. Just messing around on the piano until I found something that sounded good

I then decided to study songwriting at The Thornton School of Music with professors Sean Holt and Chris Sampson. There I dove much deeper into music theory and different music genres.

Since I grew up with so many musical influences, I began writing music with a variety of different styles as well. I love fusing together genres and pushing conventions forward with experimentation, as well as just writing catchy and fun songs.

Storytelling is an important part of my process as well. Sometimes it’s just to serve a particular mood, while othertimes it’s much more conceptual and research based.
